Creating Your Book: How to Find Time For Writing
Creating your book manuscript involves taking the time to do the writing. That means, for me, to set aside time every day to do some daily writing on the book. In this post, I mentioned I was starting my kindle publishing career with a short story. While I am determined to get a book published I have been following along with Geoff Shaw’s Kindling course, so writing daily is necessary to have a book I can publish soon. It’s coming along. I have tried to write at least 700 words a day. Some days it’s been less some days more but I hope, barring no major interruptions, I will have the first draft finished by weekend. This becoming a published author is both exciting and scary.…
How to Research Your Content
How to Research Your Content How to research for the content of your book or blog writing seems to be a subject that is being overlooked by many wannabe authors. Being a writer, one of my favorite parts of the writing process is the research. I love learning about new topics, history and places. Many blog posts, eBooks and even some self-published books I have read online, though, seem to have skipped this step. Or maybe the author just doesn’t understand what good research is. Now if you already know your subject matter well or are an expert yourself, you won’t need to do much research. This post is for those who are writing on a subject they want to know more about, but haven’t become…
Self Confidence Thoughts
Spending the day writing for myself and clients. Thought I’d share this graphic I created at Piktochart.com with some great affirmations for boosting self confidence. Feel free to share it.
Connecting to Real Life
Just a little personal thoughts to help you get to know me. And maybe a little marketing thrown in the mix as well? This all came about from Tiffany Dow’s comments about putting yourself out there and personalizing your blog. I love most of the things Tiffany teaches. Even though she can be a little (lot) tough, I know she is doing it because she loves us all and wants us to succeed.
Day One: Book Writing and Kindling Review
Well, I went through the newbies section on Geoff Shaw’s Kindling. Some great stuff to start my self-publishing career with. The first thing he tells me to do is to pick a type of book, either a short story fiction piece or a summary book. I will do the short story fiction. Already have a short outline done and started writing. This is in the contemporary romance genre. The next step is research. He suggests we check the bestseller’s in the category we have chosen to get an idea of what is selling. This is something I talked about in this post. Look at the covers, read the reviews and list the tags customers used to find the book. The third step is to choose a pen…
Kindle Publishing: Where Do You Begin?
Many of you know one of my goals this year is to get several books self published both in Kindle publishing format and through CreateSpace or some other self-publishing format. The writing and creation stage of this is the most fascinating part of the venture for me. But I am looking forward to the technical phase as well. The marketing and promotion, not so much. But I am going to persevere and face those demons when I get to that phase.
