Continuing on Journey to Authenticity
My last post about my journey to creating a more authentic started when I began following Vera Raposo and Lynn Terry’s cross blog conversation. I’ve been doing some soul searching and brain storming with my mastermind group on the direction I want to take.
I love my ghost writing clients, but as many of you know, it’s easy to get burned out when you aren’t expressing your self on the topics you enjoy. writing about internet marketing or financial investments is fine sometimes, but I love writing about family, food and every thing to do with home keeping.
Narrowed the Niche
I can do this with my family and home plr site but I want to add more affiliate marketing to my income stream. So the plr site stays but I am stretching my reach out to the cooking world.
Look out Food World! Here I come!
I’ve set up my site, ComfortFoodMama.com on WordPress using a free theme. I’m not too concerned about my logo or tagline just yet. It will be added soon.
Added my About page.
I went into the settings on my Theme and changed a few things like the permalink structure and the ping list.
I set up may mailing list in Aweber. I’ve been using them since I started using a mailing list.
Created my opt-in form and set up my list as a blog broadcast. The blog broadcast option lets me send out my latest posts to my list automatically, whenever I add a new post.
Next I set up may Social Media channels. Ideally, I would have used comfort food mama on all the channels but some were already taken, like on Twitter. I like to have separate social media accounts for specific businesses to keep them separated from my personal accounts. Twitter-done. Google+ – done, YouTube channel -done, Pinterest- done , Facebook page-done, Udemy-done.
Next I did my first blog post.
Now I need to work on my free gift for subscribing.
Stay tuned as I continue to grow my affiliate niche site. Maybe we can learn some great new ways to find authenticity together.
